Artifacts : Emerging Technologies Project
Reflection:
This artifact was created in my ITEC 7445, Multimedia Design class that I took in the fall of 2012. This was my first time creating a prezi and I was excited about it. I created the prezi to show the results of my research on evaluating digital tools and resources for accuracy, suitability, and compatibility with Timber Ridge’s technology infrastructure.
This prezi artifact demonstrates mastery of Standard 3.6. It includes a presentation that shows the research, selection, and evaluation of digital tools and resources. I researched several different types of educational programs for enrichment purposes for the students of Timber Ridge. I wanted to be confident that I find the best digital tool or resource to evaluate. I was looking for an enrichment product that would engage students, provide opportunities for differentiation, was standards based, multi-disciplinary, and student directed. The Reading A-Z Online reading program had all of those qualities and more. In my prezi, I went into detail describing the features of the Reading A-Z Online Program. Those features covered:
This artifact impacted Timber Ridge greatly. After developing this presentation for this class, I shared it with my administration. After they reviewed it, they agreed that they wanted to take a closer look at it themselves. After their careful review, they decided that they wanted it to become a part of the enrichment activities that are available for Timber Ridge. They approved a grant to purchase the Reading A-Z online program for specific grade levels at Timber Ridge Elementary.
